Innocence Abroad is the account, more and less, of a student's summer in Russia in 1973, right at the peak of Brezhnev's dull domination of the Soviet Union. This 30th Anniversary edition includes an introduction on how much, and how little, Moscow has changed in three decades, based on the author's observations in September 2003 during the final negotiations of the now notorious merger between the Russian oil giants Yukos and Sibneft.
